Francis Latreille

Francis Latreille is a photographer and a painter. He was born on January 8th 1948 in Poilly les Gien, Loiret. In 1967, he makes the decision that will change his life by leaving the banks of the Loire River and going to Israel; he wants to cover the Six-Day war.

He leaves the France-Soir newspaper in 1995 and, in the company of explorer Jean-Louis Etienne, roams the austral and boreal lands. He becomes passionate about those areas threatened by global warming.

In 1997, he receives a World-Press Photo award.

Since 1998, he has taken part to the Mammuthus explorations in Siberia and publishes his stories and photos in newspapers such as Géo, Paris-Match etc…
