Alain Foucault
A geologist and expert in climatic and environmental changes

Professor Alain Foucault is a geologist and expert in climatic and environmental changes in recent geological eras such as the Pliocene and Quaternary, dating from 5 million years to the present.

He led numerous field expeditions in Mediterranean regions (Spain particularly, but also Italy and Greece) and a few expeditions at sea in order to study the structure and stratigraphy of Mesozoic and Cainozoic sedimentary soils. He has been conducting his teaching and research at the Paris VI University for the past 15 years, and also collaborates with the Paris National Museum of Natural History since 1976, where he led numerous lectures and conferences about various topics such as biological and geological evolution on Earth, as well as environmental and climatic changes.
