mammuthus is a scientific exploration initiative dedicated to conserving a vast heritage and sharing the knowledge that it offers.

Linking the past, present and future in a rigorous and unconventional manner, we find ourselves humbly at the confluence of big ideas and pressing issues.

Using the fossil record of the Siberian Arctic as primary material, the program makes use of tools spanning molecular biology to cultural anthropology in order to decipher pertinent episodes of prehistory and to gain insights for the present and future.

This record of our planet’s past is unique and unfortunately disappearing. As explorers, scientists and most importantly as members of the human family, we take great pride in protecting this heritage.
